        Well then. I was kinda looking for a reason too, ya know BB? Well, I knew people would argue this, so that's why it would just be a mode. It would be cool to just hide in a three story tall fortress and fight off your enemies for some people.

    BTW- Thank you for adding the no offense at the end. It really helped prevent an argument.

    if you want a huge fortress play a game based in the middle ages like stronghold

        It would be cool to just hide in a three story tall fortress and fight off your enemies for some people.

    Stuff like that would be pretty pointless, especially since the bulk of the covenants armor are the Wraiths. Hiding in a fortress would just allow the enemy to surround you with artillery and hammer the hell outta you. Not to mention the punishment that would be dished out by air units.

        There would be AA guns. Also, I recommended a new artillery unit for the UNSC for the purposes of fighting off artillery units.

    As I said before, the forums are rather split on this so I yet again recommend for it to be a version of the game. What I'm trying to say is to only help out with the wall idea, not crush it, cause it will be an alternative. If you have a problem, propose an answer, I just thought up the AA idea in seconds. If you can't find a solution, then post a problem, it is helping a bit.

    BTW- BB, I'm trying to help us all out here and avoid future confrontation. That was a bit of advice for how to make your replies constructive instead of hurtful. Just trying to help.

    i think it would be cool if its just used like a defend gameplay when you need to survive waves upon waves of enemies

    it would be good for infantry and rocket launchers to hide behind/shoot over

    Why would the UNSC need a new artillery unit for destroying other artillery? Regular artillery can work just fine if you can locate the enemy artillery. Its called counter-artillery.

    Walls should should look like regular concrete (or future equivalent) walls, but with hardpoints at the top for defenses, and areas where you can make a guard tower in some sections. Kinda like in the banner and the demo.

        Yeah, that's what I was getting at. I was unaware that the UNSC already had artillery.

    Anyway, I forgot to mention this. If you are proposing solutions, then ignore that post. I apologize for any inconveniences. \

    I'm not so sure if your helping out with my siege mode, or promoting the regular mode. If you are helping my siege mode, than thank you. I appriciate your help very much.

    Why WOULDN"T the UNSC have artillery? They're a full fledged army!

    OK, admittedly, smaller one story walls would have a place in Halo Wars. Modern military bases have them for a reason: To protect from snipers and spying civilians.

    However, the large, three story, garrison troops on top, Helms Deep walls do not fit. The resources and time invested would be ENORMOUS, too large for a short-term base that's going to be glassed anyways.

    In any case, such walls were made obsolete with the advent of artillery and aircraft, AA notwithstanding. Do you realize just how inefficient AA is at shooting down bombers and strike craft?

    how would costs be enourmous? they might be now, but in a time where we own an uncounted number of planets with plenty of access to the only wall building thing we need (CONCRETE) i see no problem with having multiple wall floors, just look at the H3 map high ground. that wall is pretty thick and guess what its made of.....CONCRETE, and it has a second floor. actually more of a tower but you get my point.

    i think a helms deep wall could fit any time, any place, except on water. and i have gotten kind of sick of seeing people come in just to shoot James T's ideas down and never coming up with their own. KEEP AT IT JAMES T! :)

    ok heres an idea,

    i know the mech topic has been shot down many times, but what about some kind of two person combat exo skeleton. they mention they have something like that in The Flood. it was a loading vehicle but why not give it armor and guns and put it to work. it would be like the walker things from the Martrix Revolutions
