    because seriously... no animal is going to come near a group of soldiers wielding guns... that goes against logical thinking...

     

     I voted defensive...  because of the lack of the passive option.... but animals tend to run when they hear a gun (except geese... cause they are stupid)
     

    animals lack logical thinking there animals

    and i think a combo cause animals react in different ways

    Not logical thinking, instincts.  Animals run away from loud noise, it's their nature. 

    Herd animals should run away from the fighting in a stampede, scavengers should be curious but still run away.  Predators should have a half chance of charging, but they should always be shot down. 

    Bottom line, ambient life should be effecting the atmosphere of the game, not gameplay.

    I have a crazy idea, what if you could strap a bomb on a squirrel and send it at the enemies base and all the grunts will go "aww look at the cute squirrel"..... then BOOM! This is the only way I would find ambient life useful danger-wise. They should not be able to maul over a marine, much less a grunt.

    Ambient life is fine, just as long as they don't interfere with the game.

    That is the whole point of ambient life, too add visual flare.

    You think fighting a bunch of anials in place of the covenant is fun and interesting?  If I ended up doing that, I will microwave Halo Wars, and ES will have permenantly lost my respect.

    I simply see it as an added realism to the background. Sure the main fight should be the covenant, but it would be nice to see birds fly away from the distant rumble of a incoming tank column

    Often times, realism equates to what is "interesting and fun".  I find that the more realistic something is, the more I can immerse myself in the game and become more invested in the outcome.  This adds to my fun...

    No one wants ambient life that interferes with the game and I don't think that is what people are asking for.

    lolz no seriously have you played EAW (starwars).

    A rancor was in the game it can destroy entire squads so I'am thinking these guys are making animals much more fierce besides eagles.

    Heres a good idea:

    Maybe a giant tiger looking animal with metallic plating that a grunt was trying to tame but got eaten. It could be real fast but really it should be good against grunts. 

    Of course not a regular tiger but one with diamond sharp claws, razor teeth, metallic armor that can deflect plasma bolts.

    Just name her King Tiger I think it would be worthy of the name.
