i'm a little surprised that no one who has played the Marathon games has suggested this yet, but what if what the MC is floating towards after the credits isn't a planet at all, what if it is actually the Marathon? it would explain the blue light on the tail side of the planet, and also answers wh this "planet" seems so mechanical because all the Marathon was was a hallowed out plant turned into a ship. Also for all of you who say that the his could continue the Marathon series, i'm guessing never played Maraton infinty because at the end of that game durndal destoryies the universe and the main charcter escapes to somewhere, where i dont actaually rember because its been a very very long time.

I think bungie is using the Marathon plot, because they like to do those kind of tricky, things. It creates alot more chatter and publicity, for instance were on a forum talking about it, which is probally one reason they made it so similar. Who knows maybe MC is really the Marathon Cyborg, but youll never know.

Ha, im just spitballin here so dont F**k me up if theres evidence to disprove me. *doesnt have 360 or H3, and hasnt played it, and is to lazy to read all the stuff*

 Maybe that is a fore-runner planet? Just an idea, maybe the Fore-runner have a new empire on the other side of the galaxy, and want to leave humanity and such alone so that they can observe there evolution or something weird like that.

dude i litterally in the post before you said it could be the marathon, but in realitlly what i think is marathon takes place before halo, my best example of this is the security personal armor in Marathon, and its similarities to the elite armor, and we have one of the prophets saying that the technology in there armour is directly from the fore runners  scaryly similar to anyone?

Maybe the Marathon Cyborg is a fore-runner.
Doesnt it state like in halopedia or something that the center of the fore-runner empire was like earth or something. I know that may be a retard thing to say since it also says that earth was one of the last planets to be indexed, and then saved, but i know i read that somewhere.

So maybe The Marathon Cyborg is Fore-runner, and maybe the Beings that created that thing that contained those mega evil things were the Precursors.

Just an idea, i dont know much about marathon, just whats on the web.

toaster... this is 250 years in the future... why cant the MC have floated to a human planet in that timeframe?  in the 500 years between now and the events of halo  humans colonized several solar systems... after the wake of halo 3 im sure that humans went in all directions.... and im sure that thy would have put a colony near the edge of the galaxy because the halo's are still around waiting to be activated...

 

i do believe that that planet/ ship or whatever is marathon... which is what ive been saying all along... 

 

 

and P dog... i see no similarities other than the fact that both are blue....

I not sure but with halo firing and the portal being so close couldn't it have been that instead of transporting then into the galaxy it altered it and transported them in time. It would fit the story and explain the 200 year gap.

Plus the memorial is date March 3 2553 is on the ship at the end cutscene

look at the boots they look the same and the texture and backpack shape are what i saw and yes they are both blue and the most stricking thing i think of is the helmet compared to the helmet of the EVA elite again your going to have to strech the imagination a little becaus elites arnt any where close to looking like humans
