Re: 3 modes for 10 bucks = rip off

I leave this thread for like a day/night, and than there are like a hundred more replies... I am not reading them all.

But what i will do is repeat what i stated earlier in this thread.

There is a huge difference between RTS games and FPS games. FPS the gamemodes only differ slightly, all involving running and shooting. However, in an RTS the gamemodes change everything. That is why FPS are map dependant, and RTS are mostly game mode dependant.

And most people here think the they can just make maps in the blink of an eye, and have it on the marketplace in less than a day. You need to get over your current mindset and actually think about this. There are huge difference in needs of FPS games and RTS games. The sooner you realize this, the better off you will be.

i agree completely, they're way over priced.  of course i bought it, but that's only because i have weak willpower.  the lack of something more tangible, like new leaders or maps, is very disappointing

Re: 3 modes for 10 bucks = rip off

I payed for this one, hoping to get some good fun in the dlc, and it was fun. But totally not worth 800 MS points! I would have rather saved those 10 bucks for Pre-ordering Halo 3: ODST! I am just hoping that the next DLC will be better, or Robot will suffer. HW is the funnest and simplest RTS I have ever played, and I know it can go very far, but Robot is just ruining it. Please, give us something worth the points. I really don't want to shelf this.

Re: 3 modes for 10 bucks = rip off

Ha, I foresaw this deadly reaction happening when we were first told about the upcoming DLC.

It's a complete farse charging for game modes/maps. Especially when it's costing something ridiculous like 800mp for 2Mb!

This is scandalous behaviour on both Robot and Microsoft's behalf. Of course I have no idea of how the process works (and I would certainly like for a member of Robot to enlighten us as to how the DLC pricing process works) but when Robot learned about the price tag that was being attached to it, they should have been pushing to release this "content" as an update instead.

I also strongly feel that the new upcoming maps should also BE FREE. People are saying that Robot and Microsoft are running a business and not a charity, well excuse me, but you are being naive.

When you pay full RRP for an RTS title and you begin to become bored with the game 2 months after its release because it only comes with 14 maps, then this game does not have enough content for it to be warranted as a good release. It is disturbingly becoming common practice amongst developers, in this world of readily accesible internet, to release games that are a bit light on the content side and then offer what should be part of the initial package as Downloadable Content.

If I am to pay everything that is asked of me for this game I will have spent close to an extra €20 on content. This will push this game into the €80 bracket (€100 if I was silly enough to purchase the special edition) for a title that is really not worth that much. For €60 I would expect that I would get MORE than just two single game modes in my new title and a wide variety of maps to play on. I would have no problem paying €10 for this content and an extra €10 for maps if the game was initially €40, but this whole situation just stinks of money grubbing greed.

RTS maps are not difficult to design, model and test. They are almost the simplest form of model making and there is no excuse for Ensemble not to have issued more maps with the initial release.

I AM SICK OF BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AS A VIDEO GAME CONSUMER AND BEING ASKED TO PAY MORE MONEY FOR CONTENT THAT SHOULD BE ISSUED ON THE ORIGINAL DISC.

THIS IS BECOMING MORE COMMON PLACE, ESPECIALLY ON XBOX LIVE AND IT MUST STOP.

I will not even consider purchasing these game modes and I will not be purchasing any of the new map packs unless they contain at least another 10-12 maps

And neither should you. Be smart with your money. Do not just pay the first amount you are asked to hand over because that is what someone else wants you to pay, not what you should pay.

Re: 3 modes for 10 bucks = rip off

THESE MODES suck i swear the only one remotely good is keep away........reinforcements wtf is that its bull i swear i tried playing as forge and kept getting my ass handed to me because the game kept giving me wart hogs and flamethrowers when i was at the 4tech lvl its not a good game at alll its stupid as hell good concept though but just not put together right...............Tug of war WTF you dont actually have to fight in this game mode i had 1 warthog the entire game and won i started with my first base gained a second real fast and didnt even get to upgrade it all the way and it saud i had won jeez wtf is that atleast when u think tug of war u would think of pulling a rope.........maybe do like they did in the campaign u get a elephant no matter who u are to pull the rope towards  your side... u can make units to defend and attack your enemy's elephant.....sounds better right wat better then wtf they have...........They also should have added serina as a playble char. and let her have the rhino i think that would have rocked along with having some other cool power and then for the covie side should have added the flood maybe......i mean u could command so many of them that whey would over welm the enemy even take the enemy's forces ie infantry but they gave us 1 good game mode and 2 sucky ones....i would have like to see another 3v3 map and better game modes besides those 2 and 2 other char for the 10bicks
