2 weeks = too long for forerunner tech. it takes around 4 days or so with human slipspace drives to reach an outer colony, so it'd take hours for forerunner tech

High charity certainly wasn't in another galaxy too.

who knows... all i know is that halo 3 is nearly 3 years after halo 2.... which makes sence because of all the new weapons the brutes and stuff....

 

the reason hmans are still alive is because of the ARK... and the fact that the elites are now helping the humans protect earth... i assume that means that elite ships are protecting earth also....

The crystal they found [which was forerunner tech] was able to fold slipspace even further ontop of it's self, making slipspace extremely fast. IE, 48 hours from alpha halo to erandius (we hadn't discovered the system alpha halo was in and neither had the covenant, so presumably it's pretty far off)

Also, think about it logicaly, if it takes two weeks for a vastly superior race, it'd take around a month for the UNSC, it's very unlikely it took a month for the In Amber Clad to get to delta halo.

Halo 3 starts like 2-3 weeks after the end of Halo 2. The Marvel comics were made to show what happened in the time period. Think about it, would it really take the Covenant 3 years to find and then decide to activate the Ark?

And Velo is right it wouldn't take a long time for the Forrunner ship to travel from High Clarity to Earth. I would say less then a day maybe even less then 10 hours. Since it didn't take In Amber Clad that long to get to Delta Halo and it was caught in the Covies Slipspace jump. Which is just a little bit weaker then the Forrunner Tech.

There's very likely to be different models and scales for scarabs

In first strike it mentions spider diggers (or something) but they were blown up by a single wraith shot to each

Also, the new scarab is alot more combat orientated, the scarabs in halo 2 were more or less purpose built mining machines, because the covenant didn't expect a fight when they came to earth

The one in halo 3 has a secondary main turret, which points towards it being built for combat

 I think you've got it, personally.

well the Halo 2 scarab has a secondary turret also... the needler type thing.... ( i wish there was a shoulder mounted "super needler" that grunts carried that fired a large needler shot... that exploded in mid air... and then sent several normal needle bolts out in all directions..... (i think there was somethiing like that in the book?
