     maybe "spellcasters" like units that have a y and x ability but cant accually attack passivily

    So you want it to be starcraft?

    I would like the story to take place after halo 3. Add new units, species and maybe even factions.

    Ya, seriously.  Starcraft was good for its time, but the game had a terrible UI and glitchy units.  Tourneys revolved around who could compensate for the terrible UI and exploit the glitchy units the best. I don't see the appeal.  I'd rather a game revolve around me making grand strategy, not micro-managing retarded units.

    In my opinion as a longtime RTS player, the fixed base/building slots/supply pad system is one of the best parts of Halo Wars, and in case you didn't notice, the game revolves around slot management and timing.  Things like Hooks, Neutral Bases, and what units defend them ensure that each map is drastically different to a far greater degree than in Starcraft.

    Supply crates are also nice, in that they give you a meaningful choice even in the early game.  Which ones do you collect first, when do you use your scouts to scout rather than collect, and do you use your scouts to kill enemy scouts?

    Making the Flood and Forerunners into neutrals seems sensible, given how different they are from other factions.

    In a sequel, it'd be nice to see if they could figure out a way to make Flood and Heretic/Forerunner into functional factions, and give each faction its own tricks and styles.

    For starters, I'd like to see supply pad upgrades have different effects for different factions

    USNC: Gives significantly more supply

    Covie: Gives a smaller amount of veteran supply.  You can press A+another button to use it to produce Veteran units that come with extra stars, based on Temple level.

    Heretic/Forerunner: Gives Tech increases.

    Flood: Increases Pop, albeit with diminishing returns.

    just play sc2 when it comes out.

    a rts like starcraft just would not work well on consol

    just play sc2 when it comes out.

    a rts like starcraft just would not work well on consol

    starcraft gets me hard dude, I cant wait for it but again a excellant RTS game so doing what they did right in there game to HW I dont think is a bad idea

    i think they should just call it an expansion so they can get away with the game play being almost the same but then add a lot more stuff and change units around a bit. for example where the top building spot is they should add an upgrade which will upgrade the building spot itself and once complete will allow the 6 new buildings to be able to be built from that spot. this means they could add a lot more units and then late game strategy would be very different from early game. they could also have a building that is unique to each leader for there own upgrades that could be like an extra economy bonus you can get late game.

    i think an ok idea would be to take a leaf out of c&c3 book

    an extra game mode such as siege where theres a set time barrier between players to stop rushing for the people who would rather not get rushed for most of their games

    there DEFINATLY needs to be a forge mode

    I've never played C&C, but I hear no one plays that mode because it sucks and is for fine gentlemen.

    yes. i agree. There needs to be a mode that only forge can win at. XD Forget those other leaders.

    I personally LOVE that idea.

     One thing I would like to see changed, is unit variety. For example, when building marines, why not choose which weapons they use? If your rushing them in, why not send them with shot guns?  Gives you the ability to make the infantry more effective (since they are currently severly limited to their duties). I'm not saying access to ALL weapons, but how about SMGs, BR's, AR's, and shotguns?  Spartans same things.. Except spartan laser could be final upgrade as it is now.  The anti-infantry, why not have the ability to give them sniper rifles? Those stupid rebel 3-star's have them. That one alone is probably my number one gripe, that there is no range to the UNSC anti-infantry. 

    A little more micro wouldn't hurt the console either. =)

    i could write a huge long post about game balance, and free base build slots, but that's really something only the developers can decide, it's what kind of game thay wnat to make.

     

    However:

    Option to record game, ie like halo3 and PC RTS games have. A must for me, and if it's in most RTS games, why not this one? it's in a consloe game, why not this one ?

    I'd like it to have ELO skill level ratings instead of trueskill .... i don't see it happening :/

    (ELO is the system the Halo 2, AoE3, and SC2 have had/ will have, and it works FAR better than TS, hence why it's in SC2 when they could choose anything)

    i Would also question whether its worth having leaderboards ..... if you put something like that in it's just asking for people to boost, if they looked after it then fine, but i really don't think it would happen.

    Just some ideas.

    Yea. I recored system will help Bug fixes and updating later in the cycle. If you dont mind buster, post that idea on my blog so i rememeber to give ya some kutos. idk about ELO raking system. A ranking system is a ranking system, but i wont lie, i dont know how it would change it. If you know something about it. send me a personal msg and We can hook up a IM convo. i know i would personally love to talk about this. And finally, the leaderboards... Its a fine line here and this is one place i think you will never make everybody happy. however... i would like to ask a question. what is boosting and why boost. Im going to be posting a blog on that soon. thank you for that idea. I however do not believe removing the leaderboards will fix the boosting problem. not even put i dent in it.

    Making the Left Trigger into an "alt" button will enable HW2 to be so much more advanced it's insane! For instance, X is Attack Move, LT + X could be a special attack. LT + A will add that unit to your current selection. LT + Right-dpad will target your next idle worker. Theese are just examples, the developers could easily make them perfect.

    It basically gives us 2 times as many commands. And the same could be done with Right Trigger, so now we have 3 times as many commands! Just because it's on a console doesn't mean we can't press two buttons simultaniously.
