Aloysius:We can't have volunteer moderators due to how Microsoft operates.

Getting picture signatures back would require a code change for the forum engine which is actually fairly complicated. Given that we had to remove them for being abused in the first place, I don't think it would be very long before people would abuse them again.

You seem dead set that people would abuse them, which is actually your main argument against them. Two people abused them in the first place, but because they abused it fairly badly, you possibly got the idea that everyone abused signatures like this or something, I don't know, I don't care. But they are all gone, most people on the forums are okay and follow the rules well. And if people do start abusing them again, just ban them. Don't do something overly complicated like changing the forum engine. Why do that when you can just ban the abusers?

Maybe add some sort of system so it's like a report abuse for signatures, but after a certain number of them have been submited, stops the person from posting and disbles their signature? Then it alerts you and you clean the mess up if there is one? Also, a report button for a person on their profile would make it more secure. Even if it takes a lot of time, I guess you can take your time!

See the support you're getting Aloysius? A lot of people have good ideas for stopping sig abuse. Any implementation of this, or just you keeping a close watch on people will all work. I will be more than happy to take this to PM with you, if you so choose. Because I really don't want to give up. I'm not being irrational, I'm not insutling anyone, all I want. Is an excellent forum feature to come back.

    Re: Avatars

Good Lord, seeing that OG thing avatar made me read Aloy's post in a Spartan-like voice.

    Question:

Is this forum built from scratch?

Too bad it isn't V-bulletin like, else we could have used this:

    http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=110401

    Description

    Product Name:
    Signature Size Enforcer

    Product Description:
Ever get tired of problem users with half-page long signatures and of policing signature size rules by hand? This mod might be just what you are looking for.

This product wraps signatures in a <div> and forces the sig to a maximum height (in pixels) with CSS. If their sig goes over the maximum height, the sig area is limited to the specified height. Optionally, you can choose to have a vertical scroll bar displayed for the overflowing signature.

This product requires no template changes or file modifications at all. It is all done automagically in the plugin.

    Contents:
    This package includes:
    2 Plugin:
"Add CSS code to vBulletin": Adds CSS code to the global CSS header.
"Put Signature in a <div>": Wraps the signature inside a <div> with the CSS class defined above.

    1 Phrase:
sigsizecss: holds the CSS code to be added. In this product, it creates a class called "sizedsig" that will be used for the sig <div>

    2 Option/Setting:
maxsigsize: (group "Signature Sizing"): This is the maximum size, in pixels, a signature is allowed to grow.

sigsizescroll: (group "Signature Sizing"): [yesno] Option to add scroll bars to the oversized signatures, or to just clip the signature.

    Re: Avatars

This forum is not custom built, but is heavily built upon by our super web developer McGlu.

It's a great piece of software, and we've already made the changes to remove picture signatures while allowing text signatures. That was the compromise we came up with, rather than remove them entirely.

As I've said a million times, and will keep on saying in the future, picture signatures are gone, and they're not coming back.

I agree with Aloysius it is a lot of work to put it back to allow them only to take it away in like a week or two. I for one don't care about picture signatures and don't really care if they come back. Just let it be and do with what you have (text signatures).

    Re: Avatars

Okay, okay. Pic sigs are gone.

But when I added <h> tags to my signature, was it in violation to anything?

    Re: Avatars

I like the avatar thing, not sure if I'll end up getting it as it seems like a lot of work.

I know you're not going to make any changes to these forums but perhaps when Robot make new ones for a different game they can put in stockpile avatars and sigs (so you're just given a selection to choose from) like when you first choose your gamertag picture. I don't really care about it but it would stop a lot of people going on about it.
