I really hate it when a game gets Messianic status. It makes me not want to buy it, though it did look relevant to my interests.

The campaign is awesome. It actually sparked emotional responses in more than one part. It is worth getting the game for that alone. The multiplayer is pretty much the same as far as gameplay is concerned, but there is alot of new guns perks and killstreak rewards. Theres even Deathstreak rewards. pretty cool.

 

i don't know about MW2. i mean i liked the levels in it, but the story was so, betrayal-betrayal headache.
the multi is fun, but just too repetative. maybe i'm just getting too old, but i think i prefer HW strategy stuff.
but don't kid me wrong, i'll still play MW2, but since Assassin's Creed 2 will be out tomorrow, it'll have ALL of my time.

Story was good, Spec Ops was ok, but multiplayer blows. Everything kills in 2 shots, SMGs snipe better than actual sniper rifles... sniping is hell because even with stopping power it usually takes 2 chest shots (from mid to long range). Even head shots are unreliable because half the time it registers as a chest shot. I've been sniping since CoD 3 and all of the games have been great (WaW was the best for snipers), but MW2 just doesn't seem sniper friendly. So I'm sticking with Halo Wars until the rest of the population disappears...

You either have terrible luck, or have weak game.

You can't snipe with an SMG. They have way too much recoil unless you pulse fire single shots, but at any range require 2 headshots to kill, and at ranges over 100 yards require 3 headshots. No one except total nubs will sit still to take that many shots to the head, they will move even if just slightly, and by the time you realign your aimer their health will have regenerated.

Most guns take 3-4 shots to kill, and an upper body sniper shot kills with 1 round with stopping power (except for the extremely rare occasion). Even Without stopping power, most upper body shots will kill.

2nd- Have you played MW2? I use a Barrett with Bling, Stopping power or Cold Blooded, and Ninja. It has a silencer and FMJ. 50% of the time a chest shot kills. A .50 would rip a man to shreds from a mile away. Hell, even a .408 or 30-06 would (not from a mile away though). Half the time I shoot people they just run off like nothing happened. In WaW you had to have Jugg to live through a single 8mm Mauser. So maybe I'm just unlucky as ***, either way I'm just going to start using the FAL and stop bitching. Idk why I'm even talking about this on a HW forum...

Yeah, .50 Cal. is way toned down. I could swear it's the weakest sniper rifle sometimes. Whenever I use the .50 I use stopping power and I have no problems.

You're better off with the intervention. It's more accurate so long as you have the aim, you get headshots like 95% of the time. 1 hit kill.

FAL is kickass.

BTW...FMJ isn't the same as stopping power (perhaps you know that). It doesn't increase the bullet damage, just its penetration.

lol. You probably only shoot when you KNOW that you will get a headshot, so you only get like 2/3 kills a match.

unverified, as i have only used that class in one game and i got 13 some odd kills. I didn't say head shots either. I aim center mass everytime, and they die. thats all i am saying, it doesn't give me problems. Not to mention its effing semi-auto. Its not hard to get a second shot on target if you cause flesh wounds with the first.

Activison espically so. Their CEO made it espically blunt. Plus the Pricing 'experiment' they had the balls to pull over in the U.K., you have the recipe for some good old fashioned hatred.

Be that as it may, the other 99% of game devs still are greedy, and I can't say that I was ever a half life fan (they did half life right?), but L4D2 is gold IMO.
