and elites cant bounce around and avoid hunter attacks and if the hunter charges the elite with a shield smack its dead no matter what

    Everyway possible? In what world?

And an Elite, could "Bounce" around an Hunter just as well, as a Spartan would do.

You know how much Plasma Rifles rape Hunters right?

Also, one smack wouldnt be able to kill a Counciler either.

You know they have 3x Better shields right?

i did not know any of that seeing as long as they bounce around, then its between spartan and elite

Edit: spartan wins as long as councler doesnt go berserk with his sword

Yes one smack would, if a red elite in GOW got pulverized,PULVERIZED!!In the book like there was nothing left and Major elites have half  or a 2/3 overshields and a counciler only has double overshield that still would not mean crap it would still get PULVERIZED

It isnt a free for all.

Its a Counciler vs an Spartan II.

    or

Its a Counciler vs an Golden hunter.

You have already said, elite would win if he bounces around, and you said that counciler would win if he went berserk.

    So Counciler, wins. :)

I never said that, i said i didnt want YOUR opinion.

So? Here is a quote from Halo pedia : Because warfare is the primary purpose of Sangheili participation in the Covenant, Councilors are extremely skilled warriors in almost all forms of armed and hand-to-hand combat.

Im pretty sure, they will hold there own.

    sp4rt4n:

In halo 2 and three it took a while to kill them. If two sniper bullets only stun a hunter in the books i could imagine what plasma rifles would do.... -_-

It only took a while if you sucked. Another quote from Halo Pedia - On Heroic and lower difficulties (Halo 2), sniper weapons will kill a Hunter in a single shot, as do machine gun turrets and plasma cannons.

Halo 3 - Hunters are easier to kill in Halo 3 because the hunters have become larger and slower, making it easier to hit their weak spots

    sp4rt4n:

Yes one smack would, if a red elite in GOW got pulverized,PULVERIZED!!In the book like there was nothing left and Major elites have half  or a 2/3 overshields and a counciler only has double overshield that still would not mean crap it would still get PULVERIZED

    Ha, your funny.

Here is another quote from Halo Pedia :  "Additionally, the built-in energy shielding system is capable of taking an enormous amount of damage, they can withstand up to three Shotgun blasts in close range, devastating melee attacks from behind, a hit from the Fist of Rukt, multiple Plasma Grenades or Fragmentation Grenades and even surviving a blast from a M19 SSM Rocket Launcher and a slash from an Energy Sword, even when their shield is down."

Hmm. I want you too get your facts straight first.

In Halo 3 it takes on Shotgun blast to kill someone WITH oversheild... And if they can take three shots, i think that would be, Hmm idk maybe 3x oversheild?

Never minding the fact that (canonically) Plasma fire can literally melt skin; so what do you think it would do to a mass of organic "worms"? It would eat right through them, that's what. That would severely damage the colony, and after I would say 3 or 4 shots, the Hunter would die.

Secondly, you compared the book to the game in support of your argument. A noble effort, but one that doesn't work here. In the games, on higher difficulties than Easy (I think it was Heroic, may have been Normal) I've been able to snipe a Hunter in one shot. Yet in the books you say it only stunned them. In the games, it's also quite efficient to shotgun the Hunters from behind.

However, on to the Argument. A Councilor Elite would put up a d*mn good fight against a Spartan II, but I feel they would inevitably fall. They are described as likely retired Zealots, no longer truly fighting in combat. While they would still know how to fight effectively, the lack of fighting would significantly diminish their odds against a Spartan II.

As for fighting a Gold Hunter, this is debatable. A Gold Hunter shows no superiority in combat above a standard Hunter, and has what some consider to be an inferior weapon. Given the instance where a fight would occur, a Councilor Elite would win. They are more agile than a Hunter, and would be able to get behind them relatively unscathed. Secondly, Councilors carry Energy Swords as a symbol of status. This weapon would be devastating to a Hunter, though it isn't in the games. With the damage that an Energy Sword does to others (removing heads/limbs) it would be entirely possible for a Councilor to completely remove a Hunter's arms, and do significant damage to the main colony (the back.)

    So, my opinion rests with:

    • Councilor vs Spartan
    • Councilor vs Hunter

Urgh, enough with the frickin' versus threads. Why can't the frequenters of the Haloverse forum actually discuss interesting topics?

And I can't believe you're asking this question; if anything, Councillors  would be less efficient than the average Zealot, due to being what they are: politicians, who are for the most part retired Zealots. A Spartan II would be able to kill one with ease.

Okay, so my freind is over, You might know him as sp4rt4n, on the Fourms.

Anyway, we arguing, like we allways do. My brother is in this as well, his argument is slightly diffrent however.

Let me explain, A Counciler Elite is the most powerfull one of them all.

And i beleive it would be able to take out a Spartan II. Sp4rt4n, however does not.

    Your opinion?

    Now, for my brothers arguement.

He says that a Golden Hunter, would be able to take out a Counciler as well.

    Your thoughts?

Actually, an Ultra Elite is the strongest. It can take 3-5 Fuel Rod Gun shots just to take down it's shields. If you collect the Thunderstorm / Mythic skull in Halo 2, they get an Overshield so powerful that it takes 3 overcharged Plasma Pistol shots to take it's shields down...  o_o

So, (not counting skulls) In a hand-to-hand fight, the Ultra would probably have a 70% chance of winning. I'd have to give it to the Elite in this one...Ultras are just utterly vicious...

As of Halo: ODST there are two types of Hunters: Assault Hunters and Ranged Hunters. Assault Hunters are the good ol' cobalt-armored monsters we've known since Halo 2, armed with an Assault Cannon that fires a long stream of energy that is deadly at close range.

Ranged Hunters have bronzish-gold armor, and are equipped with single-shot Fuel Rod Cannons. They're devastating if they catch you off guard.

Although armor color usually signifies rank or power, there are absolutely NO differences between Assault and Ranged Hunters (other than color and weapons)

So...Elite vs. Hunter...Canonically, I have to say that the Elite is going to end up as white-armored pulp smashed into the floor. Hunters are just too heavily armored for an Elite to even think of attacking it.

Quote from Ghosts of Onyx: "...the Hunter roared at one of the Elites that refused to fall back into line. When it did not listen, the Hunter charged up and slammed it's shield into the back of the Elite, crushing it's spine..." The Elite mentioned was a Minor, and still had it's shields up...

So, you decide: SPARTAN-II vs. Elite Ultra and Ranged Hunter vs Elite Ultra, who would win ?

    Councilor vs Spartan:

Councilor, they are retired zealots(uberawesome elite ranks), with decades or centuries of battle experience, they also come from a warrior race and have shields that can withstand tank rounds, although they are politicians they are driven by a strict code of morals and honour and all practice their proficiency with arms.

    Councilor vs Hunter:

    Councilor wins again.

    Ultra Elites:  http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Elite_Ultra#Trivia

    SPARTAN-II's:  http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Spartan-II

Unfortunately you're wrong. Elite Ultras are stronger than the other Elites on the Field. However High Council Elites are the most powerful Elites of them all.

Because warfare is the primary purpose of Sangheili participation in the Covenant, Councilors are extremely skilled warriors in almost all forms of armed and hand-to-hand combat. As Sangheili are ranked according to the numbers of kills obtained, Councilors are likely to have slaughtered a significant amount, likely being retired Zealots, since Councilors are rarely seen in battle.

They have significant experience in battle and their armor is equivalent to an Elite Ultra's. This means they have more experience and have the highest teched armor available.

In addition to their great skill in combat, Councilors are also equipped with an extremely durable Combat Harness, similar in appearance to the standard issue version, but with superior armor compared to that worn by lesser ranks, similar to that of the SpecOps in Halo CE. Additionally, the built-in energy shielding system is capable of taking an enormous amount of damage, equivalent to that of an Elite Ultra: they can withstand up to three Shotgun blasts in close range, devastating melee attacks from behind, a hit from the Fist of Rukt, multiple Plasma Grenades or Fragmentation Grenades and even surviving a blast from a M19 SSM Rocket Launcher and a slash from an Energy Sword, even when their shield is down. Halo 2 is the only game in which you see and work with Councilors.

So overall the High Council Elites are the best Elites, and given their experience they could easily take on a Hunter or Spartan.

    Re: Counciler Vs...

you do not have the information to decide this argument really, the stats in the games are for balance not realism, and more than likely and elite ultra would not have a 3x over-shield, but it is possible, and from the "Cole protocol " where the gray team spartan hand-to-hands Thel Vadumee(not sure about the spelling) htey come out about equal, and i imagine he would compare to a high rank elite, i admit there is no actual weapon based combat between them in that book. And as for the Hunter vs councilor it depends, on the councilors weapon, with a fuel rod the councilor would win likely, and despite the hunters armor i suspect that a energy sword would be able to pierce it (energy swords have been seen piercing meters of titanium armor, and i don't think the unknown alloy is that tough but then again not enough is ever told about it).

And because I feel like contradicting someone Councilor elites would not be more experienced than a Spartan for this main reason Spartans were trained from birth to be super-soldiers, also they learn from their mistakes better than elites, (elites find dishonor in so many things eg taking injury that requires a doctor, using heretics weapons)  Even if councilors were trained from birth they would likely have less experience than the Spartans because Spartans work as a team, are constantly deployed to combat situations against a superior enemy force. I don't think they would take a councilor and say go drop him in the middle of a UNSC base full of ODST's with the objective of taking it out alone, thought they might do it with Elite ultras, likely with active camo if they were to but those would be Elite ultras not councilors
