    I have no idea, I haven't read all the books yet.

    But many elites didn't understand why the humans had to be killed, they were just doing what they were told.

    they some of them knew that the prophets probably did no decomission the dreadnaughts when the elites and prophet were at war.  even though it was a so called half and half respected relationship the elites were more like military slaves to protect the prophets on the ground, or in space stations. 

    Dont forget to try the new Raid disruption bomb. "stops cove leaders dead includes Arbitar as well" sold in select stores result may very on the leader and opponents.

    I would take a single squad of ODST's in cover vs however many sword elites you want

    Really depends on the situation. ODST's have better communication, technologically advanced armor, and are generally more tactical. Elites are stronger and can be invisible, but ODST's can do headshots and be "invisible".

    I'd take a Spartan III team over any of them though.

    Elites are as strong and quick as spartans.  They have shields.  They can go invisible.  They are the most versatile covenant unit.

    Well... The Elites don't just have energy swords. They can have needlers, plasma rifles, carbines, or beam rifles. So, Elites could get headshots, too. Meanwhile, ODSTs have shotguns, rocket launchers, SMGs, battle rifles, sniper rifles, assault rifles, and pistols. But why would Elites fight such an inferior species when they can send countless Uggnoy, Kig-Yar, and Yanme'e? As to your question, are you using Leader Powers or not? If not, how about 50? And if you are, how about 25 to waste it, then 25 more to kill them? Either way, your ODSTs are plasma barbecued mincemeat.

    So, what do you guys think? Best comeback on this thread or what?

    You know that their shielding is the only thing the armor has after the shields fail their armor is probably more fragile then ODST armor plus they have generally less armor then ODST. I agree with you somewhat but i really think the elite armor is just good for a either camo or b shielding besides that its pretty weak

    What? Elites are a Tier 2 race. Humans are Tier 4. Do you honestly think that a highly advanced race would just make armor because it looks cool? The answer, good sir, is no. The Elite armor is just as versatile as it is efficient. In order to keep mobility, Elite armor only protects what it has to, while ODST's armor is extremely heavy and chunky.

    Elites - As strong as Spartans, 9'0 or so? Have invisibility, swords (which are better canonly than in the games), and shields.

    In a 1v1 fist fight, an Elite would win no question. (Don't use Halo Wars as an excuse, the elite was overly arrogant.)

    In a long range battle, I would have to go with the ODST personally.  The Elites head is a much easier target first of all, secondly the gasp powered sniper is better in my mind than the beam rifle.  The thing the Elite has going for it if it's in a jungle area or whatever, is his cloaking.

    In a straight up gunfight? Elite, simple.

    In a stiuation where both dont know where the other one is? I dont know

    ODST's are regular humans with cool training.  Elites > Regular Humans, simple.
