Officially cancelled, as for now. The first proposed releasdate was 2006, and as time progressed, the project didn't. It never got past the pre-production stage. Some attempts to a proper script had been drafted, but nothing final. The movie had three proposed directors, and all thanked for the job at some point after it's announcement. (Blomkamp's District 9 is comming out soon, and it's gonna be epic. That could've been the halo movie D: ) The biggest reason for the cancellation of the Halo movie was, although all these other setbacks, 20th Century Fox and Universal Pictures, both pulled out of the deal for unknown reasons in October 2006, causing it to be postponed indefinitely until new distributors could be found.
