    Re: A rushed campain

The Halo Wars cutscenes were top notch but the only reason for that is that they didn't have to find a balance between in-game quality and cutscene quality they could just render the highest quality without it disturbing the graphical side as it an RTS.

The story was far too short and not even interesting. They took everything from the novels, scrambled it together and pumped it into a campaign of merily 15 levels. Command and Conquer, for instance, had a whopping 41 levels and spawned a expansion. The whole problem of Halo Wars was that it's campaign was obsolete and completely unnecessary within the haloverse.  Remember, Halo Wars at first was never planned to become a Halo RTS it just crossed their path and MS were all too greedy to turn down whoring out the Halo franchise. I'm not saying Halo Wars isn't an enjoyable game, only that it isn't what it should have been. (I'm only talking about the single-player here, ofcourse)

It could have shown us the long and enduring battle for Harvest and explored how the first days/months of the Human-Covenant war was fought which would have been interesting and would have mattered within the franchise. But instead they chose to skip Harvest and only let you play three levels on Harvest itself, I was really dissappointed by that. Instead they went on a crazy tour where planets were discovered and left within an handful of missions. It was like they wanted to top what the Chief did in 20 hours of gameplay and cramp it into the haloverse.

If they were ever to make a sequel to Halo Wars I hope it will atleast cover a rational part of the canon.

    Re: A rushed campain

The problem with this, like every other Halo game after Halo 1, was that they focused too much on multiplayer; and spewed a short and unsatisfying campaign to go along with their main focus.

Sure the cutscenes had great graphics but they barely made sense. Why did the Covenant go to Arcadia? What was the point of throwing the flood in there? Why are the Spartans viewed as immortals?

The canonical errors are atrocious, even with a Bungie consult. And this crap about the Halo Wars team playing through all the Halos and reading the novels is total BS. If it were true this game would have been much better.

I have fun in multiplayer, but I find myself struggling to accept the campaign for what it is, it seems all they did was throw it together just to give the leaders a story, and even at that where's the f'ing Chieftain???

"Die?"Kurt laughed."Didn't you know?"he told the Elite. "...Spartans never die."

I admit that Halo 2 campaign was long and repetitios, but Halo 3 campaign was pretty good.  Halo wars campaign is pretty good.  I think you should have fought a chieftain at some point though, maybe in Anders' signal where u first see brutes?
