terrible idea. if you don't like it, quit the game for a couple weeks. by then all the rushers that can beat you will be playing at their own level and you will be able to play against other, forgive my use of the term, noobs (face it your a noob. there's nothing wrong with that though and you won't be one forever)

    Re: New Update? No Rushing...

Did the gremlin thing and worked wonders. Even tossed some turrets in. Thanks for the advice guys.

Also...what use is quitting? More you play, the more you learn...even if you loose. Thats what seperates ppl from the real noobs who throw a fit when they cant figure it out.

    Re: New Update? No Rushing...

10 min no rush? Why do you think that someone who can't even counter a rush or scout or build units before they are fully upgraded would stand a chance after 10 min when he didn't stand a chance after 3 minutes?

This suggestion is silly. You can't scout, you can't pick up the enemies supply crates, you can't adapt to your enemy - all you're doing is watch your base getting bigger and bigger. Then you release your army and see if you built the right units to counter your enemy. Sounds boring? That's because it is.

You'll just have to learn it the hard way ;) I remember, when I first started off playing Starcraft, my first RTS, I got owned online for weeks. I was flaming rushers, I said it was unfair and joined "10-20 min no attack"-games and got bored pretty fast. Then I figured how to beat fast attacks and how to give them hell. Since then I have a win ratio about 80-90% =P

    - "Excellent, now we can attack in any direction!"

SDERKA:Not fun? Rushing defines RTS.. Rushing is part of the game every RTS has it ( correct me if im wrong ) ... If you take out rushing every game would last hours... And if you don't like rushing go play 3v3

yes you are correct. it is in every RTS

    Re: New Update? No Rushing...

Why not build turrets?  They crush all in the early game.

Don't rely on them though.  If you get four Large Turret, the enemy can use Locust or Cobras and attack beyond the Turrets range, and have an army around them to counter any units that come.

    Re: New Update? No Rushing...

That sounds stupid! All they have to do to satisfy this whole rush issue and for ppl who dont like it is either:

    1) Make a new multiplayer game mode where no SoF powers (as in MAC and Cryo etc, not the healing and pelican) or heros are used including super upgrades and just have basic armies and all other upgrades availiable, that way ppl who hate games with rushes etc in them can play in a more relaxing but still strategic game while others (aka ranked list type players) can continue to play as the game was intended untill updates for changes come out to tweak them.

     Or

    2) Make Hero units cost 400 after buying a temple instead of getting a free one when the temple comes out or make them only available after Tech Lvl 2 but the same would have to take effect with SoF powers, that is not being useable untill lvl 2. Also they can make the Teleporter an upgrade that comes with the third phase (final phase) of a Covenant base structure, but something drastic would have to happen to the UNSC to balance it out because the Covenants main advantage is early game and by taking away all the above you would be effectivly screwing their chances up to win especialy considering how hard the UNSC can become later on in the game!

Those are just a couple of ideas but as long as they take into consideration that they cant madly change the Cov and only tweak the UNSC (cus that wont be right at all) it could be alright. I still think the Cov should have some base bonuses though, and Vultures should be limited to 3 max and the special ability shouldnt recharge so fast too!

Rushing is a viable tactic and will always happen, although i do think that it seems a bit overpowered in this game and as a result used too much by most players. The main reason it happens though is due to the instant resource gathering, in C&C & StarCraft you have to focus on Gathering for atleast the 1st 3-5 mins before you can even start to consider a base assault!

    Re: New Update? No Rushing...

Ok to be fair I wouldn't say you SUCK, more like you haven't figured out the right strat. yet. Play around and things will become much easier. As far as your idea for 10 min wait, I have friends that when we play skermish ask me to do this all the time. I tell them no, and they don't complain. It's just simple strat vs strat. I think if they were to do this, because there are enough people out there that would enjoy this gametype a little better there would have to be limitations.

    1. Start with fewer supply (initial and on map. This would make boosting your base/units a little slower at start.)

    2. Only for 1v1s. (If this went to 2v2 or 3v3 then it would mess the game up all together.)

3 Must be played on a 2v2 or 3v3 map. (The reason I say this it because I think there should be a good amount of bases for each player. I will explain with the next rule.)

    4. Unit size will be similar to Deathmatch. Each base equals 15 units. (With this and rule three one would have to spend their money on bases. While yes they would be able to have more units this way it would take them a little longer to get things set up, and for the players that are bad at the game they would be able to have a chance at a come back with more than 2 bases. Also all bases should have Resistance at them so they don't just boost their supply and take free stuff, and no extra reactors or forerunner bases.)

    5. This one is majority vote here. Tech levels will only be upgradable based on time.

    Example of rule 5

0:01-2:30 ( Players can only purchase up to Tech 1 things )

2:31-7:00 (  Players can only purchase up to Tech 2 things )

7:01-10:00 ( Players can purchase any Tech level they like )

This would help keep things a little more difficult for players until closer to time. Maybe a little tweaking would be needed, but just an idea. Don't make fun of people because they would like to be different from you, just laugh at them in your head. No but really there are quite a few people that enjoy this gametype and play it with their friends in private games. Not these rules, but the 10 min thing.

    Re: New Update? No Rushing...

Your a total noob. Those of us that have been playing RTS since I say 1995 and original Command and Conquer know how to deal with a rush. Figure it out or go play Call of duty.

smartkidbk5:I think there should be an update that no one can cross the middle until a certain time. (Ex. 10:00). It may be a tactic and beatable, but it makes the game not fun. Anyone else think this?

Well, eh NO, you have to deal with the fact that some people rush and some people dont. In order to win you must do the 5 A's of Strategy games

    Acknowlge

    Anticipate

    Ask

    Alter

    Adapt

i thought it was something like the five S's one was scout or sometin like that
