    Re: Xbox 360 vs. PS3: piece-by-piece

The plain fact is, when people buy consoles, they want to get the most out of that console through gaming fun and entertainment.  With that in mind, the Xbox 360 suceeds because its online play is the best, it has great acessories, and it will always have greater games like Gears of War, and Halo, which are argueably the best games for any console at this moment.  You can enjoy playing the 360 with your friends more with the games you like through its online play, the PS3's online play is obscelete.

plus there are nearly no PS3 exclusives, but tons of 360 exclusives that are high-quality (BlueDragon, Lost Odyssey)

well, the ps3 has a bigger variety of really good exclusives (motorstorm, ratchet and clank, mgs4, resistance ect.) but it doesn't have the kind of games that will sell a console all by itself (halo, gears) but yeah, even with the europe launch (which is supposed to have tons of units but hey, the U.S. was supposed to get 2 million and we only got 400,000) recieving so much hype, i think the ps3 is done for.

    Maes Hughes, i will miss

This was a really good article I think from reading that, that the 360 has a bit more power under the hood compared the PS3 although the ps3 came out a year later lol.

i have heard that the PS3 costs about $100-$200 to make and they sell them for $500-$600!!!! plus it only has 2 processors and xbox 360 has 3 core processors. it's graphics card perfomance beats PS3 as well. it was all physically proven by gamespot.com. sony loses. period.
P.S. Don't be nerd and say pwn. It's OWN.

    Re: Xbox 360 vs. PS3: piece-by-piece

    um no

the PS3 has 1 parent core and 8 special purpose cores (making 9, but 2 are not available to developers, leaving 7 for games)

and the PS3s processor and blu-ray drive cost nearly $500 on their own

no, not true, they cost roughly $400 CDN ($300 USD) to make they also don't have to deal with the shipping costs, Sony actually hired private jets to fly the PS3 here (costing a huge amount of money).  Whereas the 360 is assembled here and shipped throughout America, which leads to cheaper shipping costs, which leads to cheaper consoles for us.

incorrent, 360's and xbox's were manufactured in China, this guy i know that works for MS had to go to china to do soem safety checks on how they dealt with motherboards and *** that didn't meet product standars

    Re: Xbox 360 vs. PS3: piece-by-piece

ok, just to let you all know, that while blu ray can hold a TON of information on it, it is the crapiest cd possible. I work in the electronics store selling music, movies, games, camaras and the like. We sell both blue ray and hddvd, i dont see how it is possible that hddvd is losing like someone said earlier. The only problem with it is there arent to many hddvd players out yet while everyone who has a ps3 is getting blue ray. And now, why i hate blue ray, we get constant returns because one, people are retarded, and two this is why: They have burned the information on to the disc on top of the clear stuff thats normally covering the information. Normally on any other dvd or cd the structure is this:

top/cover with somesort of silver stuff under it which connects with the next step

    information

    clear covering to protect information

that is why you can use skip fixers to clean your cds, they fill in the scratches on the clear layer so it can read through it again. Now, the structure of a blue ray:

    top/cover

    clear covering

    information

Basically, if you scratch a blue ray disc its fubar'd. You scratch the bottom, you litaraly rip off information. I assume they did it this way to do multi layer and quick reading but its terrible. We get more blue ray returns than any other type of cd or dvd combined. I understand that its an easy fix, you just take better care of your games. But i know that i sometimes get a stack of games on top of my 360 because i get lazy one day when im playing. I dont think there is any of the plastic layer left on my halo 2 disc and it still plays fine, almost.

Mostly what i got from the article is graphics wise this: The ps3 can have more stuff going on at any one time, but the 360 will have better all around graphics. And im through.
