    Re: Helpers

The only problem is that they would have to stay active for pretty much the whole time. If I were a MOD, I'd get pretty ticked if the people who I elected as MOD dissappeared, and then came back, and then went away, and then came back and spammed, etc.

Though, I can't see the mentioned people leaving. Then again, if anyone remembers, I never thought Shadow 88 would leave, or Teh Master Cheif, or Spartan-288 (not the one with the GB in Halo-Verse), etc.

    Re: Helpers

Well other than UNSC resignation none of us have shown any signs of leaving at all. I have been active for like 4 to 5 months.. Other than a week or so during christmas...

    Re: Helpers

Even though I am new on here, I will say that I plan on being here for a long time (aka- big halo fan and have lots of knowledge on the books). I am on every day even though I don't post a lot I keep up with whats going on. I'm currently working on a game-idea thred and plan on having it out this next week. I think that it's a great idea to have helpers (or something equivilent) on these forums.

All of you on this 'Helpers' forum are elite and I am excited to get into deep Halo disscusions with you all!

So I will like to say hello and I am looking forward to talking to you all more on here!

ps - I am just curious but have you seen anyone else from Alaska on here? lol

    Re: Helpers

Maybe instead of nominations, we should have applications, or even a quiz to see who is best for the position. Just nominating doesn't really measure a persons knowledge of the Halo universe, they have to actually know something. These questions wouldn't have to be entirely random like "there was a plot hole in the book Fall of Reach during the first encounter with the Hunters. What was it?". But they should at least display knowledge in the game mechanics of both Halo 1 and Halo 2, as well as the basic book plot line from at least the first three books.

But, i guess it doesn't matter, although I do think its a good idea to have some people that can be pointed out to help those who need to know something about the Halo Universe.

    Re: Helpers

That might work, but the MODs will be deciding (only if this gets in) who gets to be a helper.

    Re: Helpers

I think you guys might be giving yourselves too much honour....

Besides, for the most part, cooler heads always end up coming out.  I think people are already doing what you guys are saying, kind of saying "hey I think what your saying isn't ethical".  So I don't think a second group (people thinking they're better, for that matter) of people moderating or whatever would be a good idea, it sort of reminds me of a so called "teacher's pet".  Kind of suckering up to the actual moderators, it seems....

    Re: Helpers

    I think you mis-understand what I mean.

Helpers are just people to help other people, not to say we're better than you.

There are already a lot of people who do this(some mentioned in 1st post) but with a special title it would help people know who to go to for help.

Thanks, it's nice to be apart of the group.  I said 'elite' because you guys have your facts right and you 'help' out others with out being insulting.  I like that a lot.  It's hard to accept corrections when people come accross negative.

    Skita1's 2,000th Post

Well, in a sense, we don't really need a title to MOD here. All that I've needed is my uber post count to get people to calm down in a fight. Now, of course it would be easier to have some banning priveleges, but whatever. It doesn't really matter to me. Us "elites" have been able to hold this place from anarchy so far, so I don't think a "MOD" title is going to change that. It would be nice, but not exactly needed. And, people figutre out who to look to for help on their own anyways.

as long as older members are cool to new guys, there will almost never be a problem. just chill and enjoy, let the ES mods do the rest, theyre actually pretty efficient. not like mods in other forums who enjoy clicking the ban-button just to feel themselves powerfull.

mods here are actually among my favorites.

Yeah, their max response time is about 3 work days, on about anything. They're nice, and know how to relate to us.
