Yes... but by the time of Halo 2 and 3 they could have taken out the function because it wasn't cannon when the books were published after CE.

Do you hear about spartans flipping tanks in the books... no because it's un-logical lol. But they had to ignore logic and realise that fun was a factor to.

Or... maybe because they never get the chance?

Seriously, flipping a tank over is impossible for a Marine, but the Spartans probably have enough strength with their armor to push a Scorpion over, provided they have the proper leverage.

No they don't... even bungie said themselves that a spartan can not flip a tank, and they had plenty of time to take the function out.

In real life the tank would be humongous, it's also too big to grapple with in the first place.

And I'm not talking about 'pushing' a tank over, I'm talking about the flipping of a tank and how when the chief flips it... it goes fairly high up in the air to land lol. So he is more or less throwing a tank partially.

    Where did Bungie say this?

Also, a Scorpion tank would weigh 77 tons, but because of its size and shape, you would only need to apply two or three tons of force to get it moving. Within the range of a Spartan, no?

Do you want me to make a thread saying this- 'Can a spartan flip a tank like the chief realistically via cannon?'to get my point across.

Well in one of the Novels, a Spartan can bench press a Rhino? Or something along those lines? If that's so, that is still out of the range of a tank.

But then again the Chief did dodge a missile in FoR, so... Who knows...

    ^ Nice sig.

Bench press a Rhino? LOL that's 'artillery'...where did you hear that because the Rhino is heavier then a scorpion tank or just as heavy lol.

Rhino as in the animal, not the tank. I think it was in Ghosts of Onyx.

No, I don't. Just provide me with a link to where Bungie says that, and I'll accept it. But not one second before.

    Hey, good to see you!

I'll admit that tipping a Scorpion over has to be at the limits of a Spartan's abilities, if possible. But like you said, who knows.

    Re: Logic vs. Fun

a trained unagumented human can flip a car....

MC is not only trained... but is biomedically altered.... and has his armor that gives him even more of a physical energy boost....

I dont think that it is out of the range of abilities of a spartan to flip over an overturned tank...

    James T.:

I have to ask, do you guys want logic to take some of the fun out of the game?

Now I'm not saying that Master Chief can fly, but some things just have to be accepted. The deal with the Scarab in the demo, too many MAC shots? Are you kidding me? Spirit of Fire is a new ship that can fire six MAC shots. You see what I did? I made something up because people don't care that ships can only fire one to three shots. They don't think out the mechanics of Forerunner artifacts, they blow 'em up! Sure the game would still be fun with all of this intense logic and thought. But would it be anywhere near as fun as if you could be forerunners, fire ten MAC shots, control 117. People aren't going to not but the game because it is slightly off, but they will if it's not fun.

    Where do you stand?

    Fun vs. Logic.

where have u been the last 2 years, no one cares about fun, its all about logic!!!
