    Lord Ganondorf :
You guys do realize that your talking about illegally altering Microsoft equipment, on a Microsoft website right? And yes you can bypass the copyright on the disk and alter things with a PC, that is also illegal. I recommend that the mods delete or lock this thread. I used to be a Microsoft employee, BTW.

Ok, this is what I wanted/want to do with Halo 3 Modding:

    user posted image
I realise its kinda hard to see the black dots, but I cannot fix this. :P

First off, all the Black dots represent a Spawn point for the AI. (In this case Flood)
The flood would start spawning at the Spawn points circled in Blue. Then after about 5-10 minutes, they would start spawning in more numbers.

After that 5-10 minutes, the AI would start Spawning at the Spawn points circled in green. They would be getting more numerous and more advanced Flood units would begin to spawn. Then they would start to spawn even MORE numerous and at different spawn points. (Ex: Pure forms like the stalker forms)

After about 20-25 minutes, the AI Flood would start to spawn at the Spawn points circled in Red. There would be 3 Flood combat forms for every Respawn point, including the spawn points circled in Red, Green, And Blue.

After all that, you will be faced with hundreds of combat forms accompanied by hundreds of infection forms. And when I say hundreds, I mean Hundreds!

Take note, I will have that one bunker filled with weapons, it will be blocked in with only one entrance, and will have 2 machine guns Guarding the doors because I realise it would begin to get impossible to hold off all those flood.

Tell me what you guys think. p.s. Please no flaming, as I do not take it well. :P

Not a bad idea.....I've played a lot of modds in Halo 2. I like em....

    Re: Modding A 360

if you want to mod, just do it with a pc game. theres no xbox encoding to get through and no crap to get in your way. ive gotten hooked on this game on Half life 2 deathmatch lately where it is everyone verse groups of spawning headcrabs(basically half life 2's infection forms). after you kill each wave the enemies keepupgrading, then you have to fight a bunch of gunships and stuff.

    Re: Modding A 360

Ive only modded Halo Pc before... And they werent heavy duty mods either. =(

Im not smart enough to make my own maps. I tried modding on Halo CE, but that ended up in an epic fail because I could not change anything! So, I guess im stuck with just swapping meta tags in Halo PC...

map making is easy on games that have a map maker(like half life 2 or gears of war), if they dont dont bother even trying unless you are really tech savvy

I hate it when people mod Halo PC while playing online!  It screws up the game!  One second I'm standing on a rock, the next second I'm 5000 feet in the air!

how do you get the flood to appear on those kinds of multiplayer maps to fight them. can you have covenant to?  can you only do that kinda stuff through modding?

    Lol so much self-confidence...
Learning map making takes a bit of time, but that's why there are tutorials to get you started eh...

And to the above question, of course you can only get AI in MP maps through modding.

lol, apparently they dont care as long as no ones posting an Actual mod or anything on the site.  Anyway, ive been modding Halo PC for years and I havent gotten any better. I mod Multiplayer maps with Sparkedit and HMT version 3.5. Its fun but when you try to do ANY modding in the Campaign it almost always results in a "Gathering Exception Data" error. The only modding you can do in campaign is swapping meta tags, the only thing I pretty much know how to do...

You have Custom Edition or the Halo Editing Kit? They are better games/tools for maps.

I had custom edition but I got bored of it. Probably because I dont know how to add AI myself. Wait, HEK, I had that too. I used all sorts of diffrent tools. I also used Sapien and Guerilla, but I didnt quite get guerilla. Its also a pain in the Ass trying to find the right files for some of the Programs to work properly...

    Re: Modding A 360

Man adding AI with Sapien is so amazingly easy. You can even let marines drive hogs if you change some flags in guerilla.
And what do you mean right files? If you downloaded the HEK it should have installed all the necesarry files.

In custom edition: editing campaign maps is easy as pie again, you do need to learn the halo scripting language preferably though, but that too isn't that hard.

Heck, I'm even making my own campaign map. If you want, I can help you with halo CE related questions. But we really should take this conversation to the halomods or the gearbox forums.

Hey NT did you hear about some guy who edited a game variant on his computer then put it on his X360 so that it had instant respawn?

Do you reckon you would get banned if you used that game-type for custom games as it has been modified?

Custom games are custom games, and, as such are perfectly legal to use online.

And modifying game content and the game console itself isn't illegal. Only voids warranties where applicable. Of course, modding all depends on what you do to the content.

It used to be easier to modify the game saves and such using action replay, but now, of course, we have the windows media center. A simple soft mod would easily bypass any locks to keep content on the box. But, as I stated before, I know not of any 360 soft mod kits.
