I must say this but in the halo books the elites were dangerous to even the spartans.  I'm not saying that elites own everything, they can just own maries when its 1 vs 1.

Yes, the marines were made like that so we could see the demo, meaning the warthogs.  Thunder said it himself the level was small scale and the marines were weak to show off some things in the game very quickly like the rock-paper scissors balancing and so it showed the action quickly. 

In the full game everything will be properly balnced this is a lame thread, you actually think the developers would be blind and not realize something after 3 years of playing it when we noticed it in a 10 minute video?

I didn't say the maries couldn't fight I'm just saying that the cov had elites who are stronger the marines.  If the elites were not there the marines could have won.

Exactly the marines died becuase the settings proly had those grunts fully upgraded or something while the marines werent so they would lose and the hogs willl come out and own them. if you notice one hog takes an insane number of damage to the point were the warhog is jumped up from the damage but it doesnt die. they wanted to show up arthogs pwning running people over and of course to run that ditch. again notice how the fight later in the demo is so much more balanced the the first one in the mission plus the grunts have plasma pistols and no elite leader in some places.
