    theres only one bad point to then flood becomeing playerball.

    what if everyone plays as flood there will be nothing to infect=could you work a way to get around this

    If you read all the new flood threads, a Robot employee(alosyious) has said many times that flood will not be in the DLC.  Plus, I know for a fact from the big man himself(graham Devine)

    If the games keeps selling well they'll discuss the flood being playable, as well as a covie campaign, of course discussing it doesn't mean it will be donde. But i still have hope, a third race would be awesome, even you know it.

    they discussed doing a covenant campaign, time and money was the problem.  Flood being playable they discussed, it wouldn't be the flood if they were playable.

    We don't need a third race.  The human-covenant war was fought with humans and the covenant

    it's called replay value, I don't see why people are so conformist like you, Robot has to realize that to stay in business you have to innovate, and keep your games updated, a few stupid new game modes won't give the freshness a third race would.

    Conformist?  I always that ES should have stayed true to their orginal design. 

    The War has not been fought between the three factions, it was fault between the two.  It wasn't until the near end of the war did the flood appear.  What is wrong with having just the UNSC and the covenant?  Why do you need a third faction?  Just because other RTS games have three factions?

    I don't have a narrow mind, I have a mindset.  I wanted a war between the humans and the covenant.  The flood aren't needed, as the only thing you can ascocate with halo is "flood".  Every halo game has to have flood.  Every halo game has to have MC aswell right?

    I gave clear reasons why the flood shouldn't be in Halo Wars, yet they still are. 

    And to the "narrow minded" comment, ES decided a long time ago.

    omg when will poeple learn anyone can say that the flood wont become playerball but the games lossing players quickly (becuase the only people you should worry about are covy or unsc gets boring very quickly!) there going have to do something to get people back and the flood would do it!!!

    I'm not saying that the flood will be playable, but i would be really happy if they were (they are my favourite race in all universes i've read/played).

    The flood would add a lot of replay value, as well as a lot more interesting matchups. Instead of cutter-anders, forge-prophet, anders-arbiter...etc, we could now add flood to those equations. And since flood could infect, they would be the ultimate anti- infantry rush faction (not that im saying rushing is bad, but it would be nice if they had their own little advantages). And Gravemind is awesome, and his faction should be in Halo Wars (even though the Gravemind himself isnt created yet in this time period) 

    Anyway i really want the flood...

    They need to be playable, all good rts games have 3 factions so u always have variety, the flood are desperately needed for the game to keep being fun
    I went outside once, the graphics were ok, but the gameplay was terrible.

    the main problem people seem to bring up with the flood is balance and the infecting of units now a crazy idea here is

    how about they don't infect units? have them play like the other units and just have them built

    it doesn't follow the story but when the hell did multiplayer follow the story? 

    or just have an infection form that acts like spartans where you can have 3 that take over something 

    they have a some of the units skins from single player they could just make units floodier and call them flood units

    overall i don't think they would be too hard to implement to online play and i really just don't see any reason why people are against them being added sure it probally won't happen but there is really no reason to try to not get it done.

    I've always thought if they got put in the game there special power would be mind contral for 15 seconds with an area effect so as the games Tech leel goes up the power still is great.

    the flood should start with a pop. cap of like 15 or 20 and be able to only make infection form then be able to infect enemies units and take them over (infected units don't add to the pop. and the infection form is erased from the pop.) and then each unit gets upgraded individually like the into one of three units that you can choose from (the "tank" form, "stalker" form or the "ranged" form) this allows for growth the infection form should not be able to take over any unit (like UNSC air units for example) and should be able to be killed before infecting the enemy and the base should have no sockets instead every unit is avalable from the "flood hive"

    the flood hive should be upgraded to a proto gravemind and then a full gravmind this is like reactor level each upgrade will lead to more flood forms being made (eg. the bomber form or flood swarm) this makes sense as how to play as a flood becase it is how the flood progress

    i do think though that the infection should be the main way of getting a large army and the bomber or swarms should only be back up to the infection / infected form
