alrite imma be honest with u i need some help countering this rush i was playing on tundra and i got my but handed to me on a platter by poopypoopants (hes a guy thats in the top 10 for most wins with the cheiftain) and i played against him 3 times in a row in matchmaking.2 times by a well crafted brute rush and 1 time with the use of many locusts. i was playing as anders. any tips to help me counter this rush and i'll tell u wat i tried doing.

elec bound i tried ur way the first game my flamers were killed by vortex and he he locked his base down and i only had 3 hogs at his base which stay at his base until my demise

Marine spamming an Arbiter is the most pitiful thing to do/watch, it's like watching a kid with downs try to swim, you feel bad for making the marines/pushing him in the water...

Brute rushes are ridiculously easy to stop, I raged many times when I had a brute binge in october (check sig)

honestly, an early brute rush (3rd building) can be a serious pain to stop. turrets fail against brutes/BC, and you won't be able to get out enough flamers. Hogs won't do ***, if they kill your barracks your finished, and lastly even if the brute rush fails you have a damaged economy as well.

I say flamers and hogs, say it with me now flamers and hogs, if they try to mix in wraiths spartans flamers and hogs if brute rushes were hard to stop there would be some brutes in the top 15. On chasms a turret can go a long way in protecting your barracks.

Flamers + Hogs all you need. Just camp his spawn with hogs while stopping his buildings/killing current ones and have flamers at your base since if your anders SP, R, B should be your build on all hook maps and if you see brute on a non-hook map still add a B if you see a Brute rush coming your way.

If he stays at your base you win because you got building damage on your side since all he will have is a BC while you continually pump hogs/flamers. If he recalls you could circle his base with hogs and keep attacking or back away and get hooks/counter him.

if i may be of some assistance,

build a back turret and spam flamers. you don't even need hogs if you don't want them. (use hogs if you are anders)

with flamers and a turret you will be save for the first 3 min of the game.

spam flamers and another couter unit, if he has hall, dual pump flamers. a summit, hogs and flamers. a factory, tanks and flamers or hornets if you are feeling bold.

key thing against a chieftan is flamers.

Wouldn't a marine spam drain the Chieftain's supplies just as fast as it would the Arbiter?

If you spam out marines and toss in flamers after he stops his Vortex, shouldn't that do something?  All the while you'll need to have those hogs take down any constructing buildings and supply pads.

brutes will kill you if you spam marines, only reason it works on the arbiter is because he has suicide grunts
