Prologue
In the infinite darkness of Space, a ship drifted. Drifted over a small planet in a large section of Space. This ship, was a Supercarrier, a jewel of the UNSC. The planet, was alight with fires and explosions. One could see black smoke spreading across the planet, as even more explosions seemed to be tearing its surface apart. From the Bridge of the Supercarrier which ironically was called "Never Ending Conquest" as conquest seemed to be the only thing the UNSC weren't doing in this war, the Captain of the ship, Captain Noxile looked down at the planet from his viewscreen, the inferno's reflecting in his eyes. He blinked and turned to the crew of the ship. He monitored what each one was doing, and checked the status of the planet, Troxane. Most of the population had been killed, but the Covenant had been driven away with the arrival of Grey Team. The Spartans were doing a very good job. They had a mission to save what they had of the Human population, and by God they would finish it.
1 Week Earlier
On Reach, ONI techticians worked tirelessly on their computers and radios. One Leiutenant stood, and turned to his Superior, Admiral Whitmore. "Admiral, we have something for you."
"Patch it through Leiutenant."
"Aye Sir," The Techtician pressed a series of keys on the keyboard, and then turned the speakers up. "Here we go Sir." Static burst out of the speakers, and a large amount of background noise could be heard. Some sounded like gunfire, others sounded like explosions. Finally, a Human voice broke through the noise. "Help us! They have the whole Planet, we're scattered, need reinforcements. Send help, send us some damned Spartans! We can't lose the planet!" The Admiral listened with grim attention. "They're breaking through the door!" The sound of something smashing could be heard, and seconds later, Human screams filled the air. The Technician turned it off, not able to bear the sounds any longer.
"Sir? What do we do?"
"We send Spartans."
CHAPTER 1
"William i want Linda, Kurt, John, and James on a pelican and on the surface ASAP" Said the captain to the ship smart AI William. "Sir, yes sir." Said the cool, calm unemitional voice. The captain then hit a com link and spoke into the mike. "John i want you up here immediately i need to talk to you." John responded "be right there sir." As John walked onto the bridge he greeted the captain. "Listen son, we don't know what's down there. It could be the thing thats key to this war for all we know. It could also be the end of the war as well." he said sadly. Then he said "I wanted to wish you good luck down there-" "Sir, slipspace transition, oh my god, its a Covenant Destroyer!" The captain spoke hurridly to John. "Get your team on the surface now!" Then he turned away and started shouting orders. "fire mac! as soon as its shield are down i want grey and black team on that ship!" John looked back at the large Covenant Destroyer. He silently thought to himself he was glad he was on the ground and not up there.
CHAPTER 2
As the Pelican landed Captain Noxile spoke through the mic "good luck out there John. as soon as you know what these things are i want you back up here." "sir yes sir" responded John. As the Pelican lifted off John and his team looked at thier surroundings there was a larg bang behind them and john turned around to see the Pelican crash miles away just as it was entering Upper Atmosphere. "what the hell." thought John. "Fall in were gonna go check that out." ordered John. As they approached the crash site john saw something move out of the corner of his eye. Then suddenly as if out of nowhere came seemingly billions of tiny spider like things. One approached the pilot of the Pelican and burrowed into her chest.then she raised up a grotesquely new form of her former self. "Retreat retreat!" ordered John " "Captain! this is John-117 we need immediate evac!" "Whats going on down there son?" static filled the com link and the captain shortly heard john shouting "Its over there!" before it died. Before he really had any time to mull over what had just happened grey and black team, now combined called green team contacted him telling him that they were now boarding the Covenant Starship and not to contact them unless needed.

Bullets ricochet off the seamless purple walls along the hall as 5 Grunts fell to a volley of fire. "5 down around 50 million to go" reported Fred with the smile gesture. Before he could say any more though 10 elites rounded the corner up ahead. "for the Great Journey!!!" the elites shout and charged at the Spartans. "I love being a Spartan" sighed Fred before throwing a frag. With the Elites shields down the rest of the team opened fire and Fred punched one in the lungs. As the Elite crawled along the floor searching for some air he shot another one in the head with his battle rifle and threw another one against the wall. "stop firing!" ordered Fred and he approached the last Elite. He disarmed it even though it argued by punching and struggling. Then he lifted it by the throat and started questioning it. "Why is a lone destroyer here Elite?" " will never speak" responded the Elite. with this it was choked tightly and thrown against the wall and then being shot in the head. Fred spoke to the team " tom your rear cover IL take point were going to the bridge we get there this ship will be ours. move out!" but before they could make even a step a siren went off and a crash resounded throughout the ship.
CHAPTER 3
John loosed yet more lead upon the spider like creatures that would not stop coming. as the last one gave a satisfying pop he reloaded his gun and breathed. "OK guys any injuries? one of the things got on me but it popped so I'm good." said Linda. "OK" said John. then he questioned uncertainly "umm does anyone know what those things where?" everyone shook thier heads. "I'm going to try contacting Noxile again" announced John. "this is Spartan-117 requesting immediate evac come in?" "117?" came a reply. "captain?" said John. "thank god you're all right I'm sending a pelican down whatever is down there will have to hold. we got a couple problems up here as well.

"sir slip space transition on the prow!" announced the AI william. "As the captain watched he saw human vessel slowly emerge from the portal. at the moment it exited everyone in the room sighed. "umm sir its deploying a pelican headed for us..." " contact them if you can. when that pelican lands they come immediately here. As the ensign tried to establish contact out of the view port the whole bridge watched in dismay as "sir they're heading straight for the covenant destroyer!"
CHAPTER 4
As the pelican entered the hangar of the Supercarrier the 4 Spartans climbed out. the captain debriefed them as they were walking towards the bridge. He told them about the green team boarding the covenant starship and no contact with them afterwords and about the friendly cruiser exiting slipspace and heading straight towards the covenant destroyer. he also told them about the pelican that was docking in the bay right then. as soon as john had heard this he dashed straight towards the pelican and took out his gun. "what are you doing soldier?" "sir that thing isn't friendly." said john. "before much more could be said he shot the thrusters a couple of times before the thing flew away and blew up in space. "john what are you doing?!" "look" he said simply. as they looked into space they saw green fluid and the like flowing from the pelican. "oh my dear god" whispered Noxile. As this happened a alarm went of and this was said over the mike. "frigate has crashed into the covenant destroyer, covenant destroy entering slipspace portal now."

Refumee Fahusla was looking at the disgusting infected planet when a small timid grunt walked into the room. "holy elite the unworthy ones have infiltrated the ship and are on thier way to this exact location!" "what?!" screamed the elite. " Send some hunters destroy the filfth." he said.
CHAPTER 5
As the green team rounded the corner about a 10 feet away from the door that led from the bridge it opened and out came two massive armored 12 feet tall beings. "what the hell are those things!" exclaimed tom. Before anyone could say anything though a green streak of light came out of one of the things arms and killed tom. "god damned those things!" shouted Fred before throwing a frag and shooting at the exposed orange spots along one of the things bodies. "ah ***" exclaimed james as he looked behind him. seemingly billions of spider like things and grotesquely mortified elites and humans were charging at them from behind. "Matt cover Fred help him out everyone else lets kill these damned things!" as the 5 Spartans fought thier respective enemies a shock wave was sent throughout the ship. "what the hell" thaught james out loud. then it occurred to him. the destroyer was entering slipspace. with them aboard.
CHAPTER 6
"well at least now we don't have to worry about boarding parties" thaught captain Noxile sadly. 6 Spartans. he had lost 6 Spartans. then again he thaught hopefully, they could take over he ship and return it to ONI for study, knowing it was very unlikely with the infection thing and the covenant aboard. still there was hope. the com to the captains right fizzled and he heard johns voice over the link. "sir requesting permission to take all remaining Spartans and complete mission sir." as he thaught silently he replied "permission granted" sullenly. As john and his remaining Spartans climbed into the Hevs he felt the adrenaline racing through him. before much more could be thaught however the pods were released and he was soaring through space. As he descended he looked at how wondrously beautifully it was in space before he entered atmosphere. he hit a button that released a device to slow him down before hitting the ground. WHUMP! the Spartans had touched down. time to complete this mission he thaught to himself.
CHAPTER 7
"fend those things off!" shouted Fred as he tried to open the bridge door. As he found sucess with the door it opened and the rest of the team came in before it close tight. a few hit to it and screeches from the outside as the infection became frustrated it could not get through. As james surveyed the bridge he saw, surprisingly it was clear. maybe the infection had already been here? he thaught to himself.

ah he hated the demons. first he had thaught it was some stupid commander that had crashed into his ship. what a fool he was, thaught the cloaked elite. now he was the only one left. he knew he would die. it was 5 to one. but he would go out with Honor. as he uncloaked and shot one of the demons in the back before it turned around and he unsheathed his energy sword before thrusting it into the stupid human.

As james heard the sound of an elite uncloaking and turned around to horror he saw a energy sword in his stomache before he fell to the floor and died. at the same moment this happened a large force of something hit the door. Fred thaught in disgust of the infection before turning to the elite. "take care of the infestation" said Fred. "hes mine" as the spartan and elite leaped at each other a large hunter like flood beast broke through the door and bullets filled the air.
CHAPTER 8
As John climbed out of the vehicle he had just landed in, he had no clue how or when he was going to get the infestation off the planet. all he knew was that he was going to, because it was a mission and he never lost. "Michael!" shouted john to another spartan. "take two others and scout the area i want you back in at most 3 hours find us a defend able location we can use as a rally point!" "sir yes sir master chief!" yelled Michael back as he went to find two other Spartans.
10 minutes later. "umm chief" theres a strange structure up ahead, i dont know what it is but theres also covenant ahead. what do i do?" whispered Michael through a com link. "everyone form up!" said john. "we got ourselves a base. just need to do a little cleaning up before its habitable." said john. as the group of Spartans proceeded along they found it strangely and creepily quiet. that didn't last for long. soon screams and screeches were heard as the group approached the location. it was near a town. as one of the Spartans made a move to go to the town john said" leave them. thier doomed. theres nothing you can do. I'm sorry." "sir you know those spider creatures you told us about? thier moving in on the location. what do we do?" as john listened to Michal he heard a roar and the com link died. now it was time to earn his title as a spartan.
CHAPTER 9
"everyone move we got a job to get done!" as the team sprinted to Michael and his teams location the com link came back alive. "oh, oh my god sir they just over ran the covenant position!" "*** get it off me get it off me!!!" john heard yells in the back ground and then Michael came back through "they're heading straight for us are you there? we need help!!" and then more yells. as john arrived on the scene his instincts immediately kicked in. There was flood all over the place. He was surprised the Spartans had held out this long. Just as Michaels shields went down and an infection form was about to infect him he took out his battle rifle and popped the form. with so many Spartans there the flood were soon gone. As chief walked up to Michael he asked him if he was OK. he was breathing very hard but said he was all right. after the team took a 5 minute rest they prepared to enter the structure. just as they were entering a large blight light bulb appeared. "hello reclaimer, welcome to my forefathers home world, may i escort you inside?"
CHAPTER 10
Immediately the bright floating light had a dozen laser sights on his one bright golden eye. "I wouldn't do that if i were you" it stated simply. None of the sights left his eye. "very well, stand down or you will suffer." After contemplating this request a couple seconds John signaled his team to stand down, though they were all very careful to watch him in case for any signs of offensive movements the whole time he talked. "Now as i was saying, may i escort you inside, my creator has been waiting a very long time to see you." Odd thought John as the team walked down the hallway. The thing didn't even seem concerned about the flood running rampant all over the planet. As the odd group continued further into the structure, the air started shimmering around the group, who all instinctively pointing guns into the air. After a couple more seconds, 5 large robots, like the one they were following, appeared. They to could float, and had one large red eye. These things to followed the bright gold bulb. At one point the thing stopped and turned to the now large group of bright large eyed robots. "there is a few Jiralhanae around a large door, please take care of them." the robots drifted around the corner, and engaged the surprised Jiralhanae, but soon they were fighting back. with around 15 robots, they were soon dead. "thank-you my friends."
the golden bulb said and approached the door, which had many plasma marking on it, as if the covenant were trying to get into it. As the bulb floated around it occasionally shooting beams of plasma at certain spots, John questioned it. "Erm, Excuse me, but what are you? and your pals? Do you have a name?" It responded, "Me? I am Offensive Bias Defender of my forefathers home world and Destroyer of Mendeciant Bias. You are humans, daughters and sons of the forerunner, correct?" It responded. Forerunner? What was this thing, this Mendeciant Bias, talking about? Though John. "yes, were humans, but what is a Forerunner?" he asked back. "ah, but to know that you must wait a while longer." it said back with slight hint of joy in his voice. At this point he had opened the door and continued in, and without a second thought entered a glowing white..What was that? portal? Though John. He looked at it and then placed his hand through it. His hand disappeared into it, but he could still feel it, and move it. "come on everyone, its safe, lets go." he said and stepped into the portal.

"Yagh!" A grunt screamed as the massive amount of infection forms jumped on top it. "Run away! Run away!" another grunt screamed. As the group of around 10 ran away, the infection stopped chasing. The grunts however, did not stop running. After around 10 minutes, they all stopped, breathing heavily. "look yap yap! There's A holy Structure in the distance!" A grunt garbed in orange Armour squeaked to another grunt garbed in red Armour. This was the only reason the destroyer had come to this forsaken planet, to achieve the holy structure and glean from it what they could. Before the ship had entered slipspace back up in space, the group of grunts had freaked, and ran away on a spirit. none of the grunts, 20 of which there were when they got into the spirit, new had to fly it, other than hold the joysticks and don't die. The spirits had crashed and they lost about 9 aboard. then they had encountered flood, ran away, and now here they were.
The rest of the evening the group headed toward the structure, and upon getting close to it, they noticed more covenant, close to the structure. But before they could rejoice, a large group of demons had emerged killing them. They all squeaked in fright, and took cover behind rocks and shrubs. As Yap Yap listened and watched the group patrol the bodies, he noticed a shimmering in the air behind one of the larger demons. As the object cleared, he saw what it was. A holy one! he though silently and joyfully. Before he could rejoice much more though, the holy one had a dozen guns pointing at it. At this point he got back behind the rock and listened. "i wouldn't do that if i were you" was all he heard and then the group headed inside the holy building. after it was safe he regrouped the now small group. "hurry and go get a radio, were calling in reinforcements, they have captured a holy one!"
CHAPTER 11
As more flood poured into the room, the Spartans were hard pressed to keep fighting them back. "Nothing can escape the flood! You shall die upon this forsaken ship, never to kill my brothers again!" Shouted Refumee as he dodged a punch from Fred and kicked the surprised spartan in the stomache. As Fred crumpled over the large, golden elite punched him on his back, sprawling Fred on the ground. "You cannot defeat me, puny human. Filfthy..disgusting..human!" shouted Refumee, emphasizing each word with a kick. As Refumee drew out his sacred energy sword to strike the final blow, a pair of green armored feet came up to meet his his ribs, sending him flying across the room. "ya see, we humans don't die so easy." grunted Fred as he stood back up on his feet. He then charged across the room and tacked the large elite. As he was tackled, he dropped his sword, so drew out a plasma rifle, and then shot Fred in the arm, scorching his green Armour. "Aah!!" screamed Fred as he rolled off, clutching his arm. As he slowly climb ed back up and looked around the room, it seemed he had disappeared. thats odd. where did the energy sword go? thought Fred as he cautiously looked around the room. Slowly he walked over to where he had dropped his gun, and picked it up. After this he heard a distinct Whoosh! behind him and turned around, firing into the air. Refumee appeared clutching his arm and bared his teeth at Fred. "This isn't over human. I'll be back." he said before turning on the spot and disappearing. ***. I'll have to deal with him later. for now we have to take care of this ship. Quickly he jogged over to his teams position. As he walked into they're midst, there was a large rattle throughout the ship, and Fred looked outside, to see that they hand exited slipspace. Right into a fleet of Covenant.
