3 modes for 10 bucks = rip off

I LOVE this game and I've played it constantly since the demo was released.  This DLC is enough to make me quit.  Three more modes when barely anyone plays the extra mode that already exists?  I no longer have faith in Ensemble-turned-Robot.  I would have bought it and loved it for a reasonable price of: > 400 or less < points.  10 bucks?  Let's compare what we can get for that price on the same XBL Marketplace:

COD:WAW Map Pack 1: Contains 3 multiplayer maps and 1 coop (zombie) map.  The zombie map alone is worth more than this entire DLC.

Any map pack for that matter is the same 800 points.

Knothole Island,  Broken Steel (and other Fallout 3 expansions), etc...

Oh but these are game modes, you can't compare them to these, Robot will say.  Ok fine, let's look at a recent and very big DLC game mode: L4D introduced Survivor which also included Versus modes for the other two campaigns.  How much was this?  FREE!

Even RE5's ridiculously ridiculed mode DLC was 400, and that included FOUR (4!) variations of Versus multiplayer.

What does this mean?  Robot has killed HW at a time where it is needs long legs.  It doesn't even show up on the top 10 played games any more...

Absolutely right. Three new game modes? No thanks, i'd pay 800mp for just1 more 3v3 map.

I thought the DLC would have been thought through a little more thouroughly,

I love the game but this is just lazy and boring. I'm very dissapointed.

I have to agree with you.  I play HW as often as I can, but $10 is pushing it.  If I see the online count jump over 30,000 I'll fork it over.  Otherwise, I'm waiting for a price drop.

Re: 3 modes for 10 bucks = rip off

If they are good fun, and enjoyable, ive got no problem paying.

I would of corse like new maps to be included, but we cant have everything. Im going to get them as soon as i work out how, and ill report back with my findings. Perhaps you can judge for yourslef if its worth buying or not.

from the videos ive seen, the game modes look pretty fun, and im happy to pay for that.

Re: 3 modes for 10 bucks = rip off

    y should everything be free

if it was 2 dollars everyone would still complain

there has to be a price somewhere you think people make games for free

DLC for free just cause they want to

quitters are failures who couldnt help their teammates so they deserve to die- why bother entering matches if you are going to quit in 5 minutes

Re: 3 modes for 10 bucks = rip off

I agree with you. I really love this game and I was very happy to learn that there will be 3 new modes.

But I thought it will be free !!! Like Gears of Wars with annex mode.

These modes should have been a patch, not a DLC !!!

Furthermore, 800 MS Points !!! What the hell ?!? Compare this with the new Fable II's DLC "See the Future", which is only 560 MS Points...

I hope they'll learn from that HUGE mistake.

    Luke.

Robot had nothing to do with the pricing, Microsoft chose it. And they "chose poorly". I agree with everything else you said. $5 is appropriate for these modes. $10 would be appropriate for maps, especially if it includes one or two 3v3 maps.

Re: 3 modes for 10 bucks = rip off

I'm going to buy it, but I don't really think 800 points is a good value for this add-on.

I'm sure Robot needs some revenue and that's why it's being released like this.

Re: 3 modes for 10 bucks = rip off

For 800 points I was expecting some new maps too, it's not worth it for nothing but game modes. Right now on live it says "low population" for all the new game modes. I'm willing to bet it stays that way most of the time.

Dave Pottinger: 800 points?! That was never a condition of our agreement!
Microsoft Lackey: Perhaps you think you are being treated unfairly?
    Dave Pottinger: No.
Microsoft Lackey: Good. It would be unfortunate if I had to leave a garrison here.

And you can only play it if you're in a party. Utter bullshit. I want my money back.

How do you know that Robot had nothing to do with the pricing?
