Who is better? USNC or Cov? Why?

Depends on your gameplay. They are equally balanced but Cov are better to use if you are a rushing type of gamer. There is no better, just how well you play the game and use the resources and powers given to you.

That's really hard to say. Let's say it, the game has some serious balancing issues.

Short version: Covenant for rushes, UNSC for longer games.

Long version: The Covenant can field very effective rushes. They quickly gain their leader ( just build the temple ) and can do hot drops to the location of their leader ( for free ). This pretty much means that very early ingame if you play UNSC you will see a leader near your base shooting at you while you are undefended, and after that you will see dozens of Covenant troop appearing at your base. Unless you get allied support, you're ***. But if the game last for a long time,  the UNSC will have an unfair advantage ( see Vulture vs Scarab, a very popular argument to complain about, and there's a reason for all the complaints ). So, if you like Rushing, go for the Covies. Also, covies look pretty darn awesome :P. If you like turtling use UNSC.

Since none of their units are effective at killing buildings at this stage i don't need to worry about my buildings much and just take my time getting pot shots at the hero. Reason why cov is so good now is because the majority of the players on HW just plain suck and can't micro manage to save their life. Once all the noobs are filtered then you will see USNC used more and more. This is exactly what happened when starcraft came out, many people jumped on the bandwagon for a rushing race(zerg) but as the game progressed, a different faction became the better. This is the case on HW.

For the record i am 38-0 and play UNSC

Neither are better, it can only be better for a certain style notoverall they are balanced trust me.

Only you can manipulate the two different factions and leaders to decide who is better for you but besides that what the other guy said.

Covenant are a bit better for rishing as they have leaders etc, but they can be easily countered by the UNSC IF the UNSC character is a good enough player. The covenant also have good cheap units to buy at the beggining of a game. Brutes, Elite Honour Gaurds and Suicide Grunts, all are effective if used correctly and quickly.

Although, the UNSC are better in longer games also said before on this thread. Purely because they have two special units, one that you get at the start like Cyclops, Gremlins and the Elepahant. But you also have things like Grizzly's, Hawks and ODST's, which obviously take a lot of upgrading but would be better in the long run.

So no one can really pin point who is better for anyone but themselves, its all about your own style of play and the way you prefer to play.

game fever pretty much covered it. consoul gamers are new to rts and will be for a while so they rely on their leaders, as soon as players start to emerge i think the unsc will be used more and more since they are much more versitile. i disagree with whoever said that the cov are better at rushes, at this point probably but thats bc no1 knows how to play yet. the best rusher in this game by far is actually the professor chick. if you spam warthogs and upgrade them they take out the leader in a hearbeat and well the cov are to slow for them so thats actually the best rush i've seen.

no the cov aren't for pussys its just a differnt style of play and you probably just stink at rts

I don't know the USNC perks seem to be way better but Cov is dominating right now. Look at the stats

cov is winning but thats because the cov are better for newer players you'll find that most of the better players use the unsc

So how is USNC better long term?

 covenant are not hard to play with, even though it was funny, that on first match, me and my friend were doing The 2v2 Flood map (I forget) and i sent in about 5 hornets, so for the rest of the game, all they did was make Vampires and Scarabs, even after i had a bunch of Cobra's and Wolverines on my cliffs dominating them.

They are balanced, they are both the same in easiness to use, and the hard to master.

ES did the factions VERY well.

The Cov definitely have an easier time with the rush but a good player can last through the rush with barely more than a few lightly damaged buildings and a few lost vehicles. They're all balanced in their own way. Like many people have already said, it's more of a style thing than anything. The Anders warthog rush is also pretty nasty to deal with. (Takes a little longer but arguably more effective and I'd still count it as a rush.) So again, No particular hero or race has any definite advantage over another. It's more about a player's style and what they want to do.
